Rick is a long-time graphic artist experienced with design and production for print, web, and photography projects using primarily Adobe products.
His career began after receiving a degree in Advertising Art, having chosen that field while in high school. The self-employment bug hit soon after, and he hasn’t looked back since founding Rick Ferens Design, now 5500 Degree Studio. He has seen the inside of numerous design firms and ad agencies while on contracts and freelance gigs, cutting his tech teeth while at one of them.
He is also an accomplished landscape photographer with a keen eye for color and composition that evolved while seeing things from a high angle perspective during his mountain climbing years.

His time in the graphics industry has given him the skills and experience to evolve and adapt easily, to learn new skills and work outside of job descriptions, all the while moving projects to completion.
